Congratulations to William for winning a silver medal at the BFA Eastern Region Fencing tournament in Great Yarmouth, and for coming so close to a gold medal (9-10).

Many thanks to Muhil Mustapha, Duncan Bennett, Stephen Straughan, Tom Hogan and Sam Straughan for making HFC visible at FitFest 2019 in Hitchin Town Square. It was hot, but demontstrations of Epee, Foil & Sabre were enjoyed by many passers-by. The event was great fun, and will hopefully encourage a some more newbies to take up the sport and join our beginners fencing course this September.

Last week, after a full year of practice and an intensive 5 days of polishing, Maitre Tony Middleton passed the British Academy of Fencing Diploma Epee examination. The BAF Diploma is one of the top level fencing coaching qualifications in the world, notoriously difficult to achieve, and Hitchin Fencing Club now has a 2 times Diploma Master as their senior coach.
